Math

Math is the basis to everyday life. Everyone has to calculate something in order to know how much money he or she makes (or loses) or how much time does it take for his or her little sibling to walk to the candy store around the corner. We cannot get away from math neither can we purposely forget about math. Math is an instinct that human beings have and without it we will have random disasters that can destroy the human race. We learn math in school because we need to be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide and other aspects on the mnemonic device PEMDAS. In order for us to become efficient in math, we need 1) to practice and 2) to have excellent math teachers. But so many people, especially African Americans, are not putting forth the effort to practice neither learn the math material. It's hard to believe since it is supposed to be the nature of African Americans to do so well in math, but it takes a motive and the skill of a great teacher to mentor and teach them and other minorities. Don't you think?!
